In 1816 Captain Simon Fraser of Knockie published a collection of 230 airs and melodies from the Highlands and Islands and left a legacy of Celtic music that has endured by its merit into the 21st century.
The Captain’s Collection was recently broadcast by BBC Radio Scotland as a major drama series.
Featuring Brian MacAlpine (piano, keyboards), Jonny Hardie (fiddle, guitar), Alyth McCormack (Gaelic vocals), Rory Campbell (pipes, whistles, vocals), Aidan O’Rourke (fiddle) and Eilidh Martin (cello).
