Heather Heywood one of the best Scottish women singers and said by some as ‘the best’.

This was her second album for Greentrax and was again a mix of traditional and contemporary songs.

Accompaniment was provided by Brian McNeill (fiddle, guitar, concertina, bouzouki - he also produced), Dougie Pincock (Highland bagpipe, whistles, soprano sax), Ian Goodwin (guitar), Colin Matheson (piano) and Ron Shaw (cello).

Watch out for The Sands of The Shore, Far Over The Forth, Jamie, The Dowie Dens O’ Yarrow, Some People Cry and Paul’s Song, while MacCrimmon’s Lament / MacCrimmon’s Sweetheart is a showstopper!

“This one is sublime…”
