CDTRAX303 (released November 2006)
The Glencraig Scottish Dance Band was formed in 1983 when Nicol McLaren, then a salesman in Blairgowrie, was asked by a customer if he could put together a band for a church social.
From that gig came another half dozen bookings and the Glencraig SDB was born. The band was named after bandleader Nicol McLaren's working collies, Glen and Craig.
Nicol plays lead accordion, and the other band members are Isobelle Hodgson (piano), Davie Bell (drums), Gordon Howe (fiddle), Neil Caul (2nd accordion) and John Sinton (double bass).
The Glencraig Band is now in much demand both at home and abroad and has made twelve broadcasts on BBC Radio Scotland's Take The Floor.
The CD booklet contains full dance instructions by Karin Ingram. CD OF THE YEAR - Box & Fiddle Association Awards
